Privacy Policy
Video Downloader - Home Apps (referred to as "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the App collects, uses, and discloses information, including the permissions and third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs) utilized to provide its core home launcher and media downloading functionalities.
1. Information Collection and Device Permissions
To deliver launcher features, secure in-app browsing, and media management, the App requests specific device permissions. We do not collect or store personal identity data on external servers; data processed via these permissions remains local to your device unless handled by third-party SDKs as outlined below.
INTERNET & ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: Used to enable the secure in-app browser, process web searches via the search widget, download media files, and allow third-party SDKs to load advertisements or transmit performance data.
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES & READ_MEDIA_VIDEO: Required to access, display, and organize your downloaded media files in the "Finished" tab, and to render local media content smoothly.
REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES: Utilized as part of the home launcher functionality to allow you to uninstall applications directly from your home screen interface.
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW & SYSTEM_OVERLAY_WINDOW: Used to display system overlay elements, such as the side-panel swipe menu or floating widgets, over other applications.
BIND_APPWIDGET: Required to host and display the web search widget and other system widgets on your custom home screen layout.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used to display ongoing download progress bars, completion alerts, and system status updates in your notification tray.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Allows the home launcher environment and required local notification services to initialize immediately when your device restarts.
READ_PHONE_STATE: Accessed by underlying platform utilities to read device state parameters for application performance configuration.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM & USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT: Used strictly for time-sensitive download scheduling or immediate high-priority system alerts within the utility workspace.
AD_ID (Advertising ID): Utilized by integrated advertising services to provide personalized ad experiences and compliance tracking.
2. Third-Party SDKs and Libraries
The App integrates trusted third-party SDKs to facilitate monetization, analyze performance, and ensure stability. These third parties may collect anonymous device identifiers, IP addresses, network states, and application interaction logs.
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob SDK): Used to display banner, interstitial, and rewarded advertisements within the application. AdMob utilizes the Advertising ID to serve relevant ads.
Firebase Services (Analytics, Config, Performance, Crashlytics, Messaging):
Analytics & Performance: Measures user interaction patterns and app responsiveness to help optimize the user interface.
Crashlytics: Collects anonymous stack traces and crash reports to fix bugs and improve app stability.
Remote Config: Safely updates application configurations without requiring a full store update.
Cloud Messaging: Delivers push notifications and download completion alerts to your device.
Android Install Referrer API: Used to track performance marketing campaigns and understand how users find the App on the Google Play Store.
Glide: Processes and caches images locally to ensure smooth UI performance and fast media thumbnail rendering.
Retrofit & Volley: Handles secure network communication for web searching and media URL parsing.
Room Persistence Library: Stores your local download history, layout configurations, and favorite bookmarks securely inside an isolated local database on your device.
3. Data Storage and Local Processing
The App prioritizes local-first data processing. Your downloaded videos, images, browser history, bookmarks, and launcher settings are stored securely on your local device storage. The App does not host external user accounts, nor does it upload your downloaded personal media to any external servers.
4. Children’s Privacy
The App is a general audience utility tool. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If a third-party SDK accidentally receives data from a child, it is governed by the respective provider's safety regulations.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our app configuration or policy updates. You are advised to review this policy regularly for any modifications. Updates are effective immediately upon being published to the Google Play Store.
